Marianne Harrison is Executive Vice President and Controller responsible for proposing, establishing, implementing and monitoring viable and robust Company-wide financial and accounting practises. She is also responsible for ensuring effective controls are in place around the preparation of financial information, and to ensure that the Company’s financial accounts are accurate and appropriately communicated on a Canadian and U.S. GAAP basis.
She has overall accountability for external reporting to shareholders and regulators, investor relations as well as internal management reporting. Her duties also include financial planning and analysis on a company wide basis. Included in her responsibility is the implementation and management of financial systems within the organization.
Marianne joined Manulife Financial in 2003 as Senior Vice President and Controller. Before that she was Chief Financial Officer, Wealth Management at TD Bank Financial Group. Prior to that, Marianne also served as Vice President, Performance Management, TD Canada Trust. Previously, she held accounting and audit positions with CT Financial Services Inc. and PriceWaterhouseCoopers.
Marianne is a Chartered Accountant and holds a Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of Western Ontario and a Diploma in Accounting from Wilfred Laurier University. She is a member of the Canadian/Ontario Institute of Chartered Accountants. |
