PRACTICE DESCRIPTION
Dr. Laccotripe Zacharakis specializes in patent practice primarily in the area of biotechnology, including the fields of cellular and molecular biology, biochemistry, genomics, protein chemistry and developmental biology. She has extensive experience in all aspects of domestic and foreign patent preparation and prosecution; preparation of patentability, validity, infringement and freedom to operate opinions; and licensing.
Dr. Laccotripe Zacharakis was named a Massachusetts SuperLawyers Rising Star in 2006 and 2007.

PRIOR EXPERIENCE
Dr. Laccotripe Zacharakis has research experience in the areas of molecular biology, biochemistry and protein chemistry and has published scientific articles and reviews in these fields. She has presented her work in various scientific meetings, including the American Heart Association international meeting. Her doctoral thesis involved the structural and functional analysis of human Apolipoprotein A-I, the major apolipoprotein on HDL particles. Dr. Laccotripe Zacharakis is fluent in Greek and conversation.
