Margie Adelman, Senior Vice President of NutraCea, is responsible for business development, marketing, and public relations. She has more than 20 years of experience in the nutraceutical and health-food industries.
Prior to joining NutraCea, Ms. Adelman owned and operated Adelman Communications, a full service public relations firm based in Boca Raton, Fla. Her clients included Rexall Sundown, AmeriVon, Imaging Diagnostic Systems, Performance Brands, DataMEG, XS Data Solutions, Harmonix Corp. and Center for Precious Minds. Specialty areas included consumer health products, technology, health, nutrition, medical, beauty and fashion.
From 1994 to 2000, Ms. Adelman was President of TransMedia Group, Florida's largest public relations firm. There, she created, managed and executed successful public relations programs for client companies including Germany-based Boehringher- Ingelheim's natural products division, Pharmaton, Martek Biosciences, Bio-Spherix, Bar Charts, Health Express USA, Kauffman Lynn, City of Hope, Jackson Memorial Foundation, Imaging Diagnostic Systems, Rexall Sundown, International Health Products, Cardio-ceuticals, Strang Cancer Prevention Center, Family Health Inc. Anti-Aging Associates, Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine, and the Oxidative Medical Institute. During her tenure at Transmedia, Ms. Adelman spearheaded the industry-acclaimed Cellasene Campaign for vitamin giant Rexall Sundown, which garnered more than $60 million of publicity. She was also instrumental in the successful launch of Osteo Bi-Flex and ArginMax, and secured national media placements on primetime shows, such as NBC Nightly News, Dateline NBC, Today Show, Good Morning America, CBS Early Morning, CNBC, and Discovery Channel.
Ms. Adelman holds a doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine from the Clayton School of Natural Medicine and attended college at Florida International University, where she studied communications and journalism. In 1997, she won the Price Waterhouse Up and Comers Award, and, in 1998, was bestowed the Soroptomist International Woman of Distinction Award. In 2000, Ms. Adleman was named Health and Medical Publicist of the Year. She is a member of the National Advisory Council of Anti-Aging Associates. |
