Margaret Dollbaum Biography :

Margaret Dollbaum, a partner in FLK's San Francisco office, heads the firm's Environmental Practice group. With a focus on both environmental issues and civil litigation, she represents parties in complex environmental cost recovery actions, land use and toxic tort cases, and advises clients on environmental regulations, permitting issues, and risk transfer issues arising in business transactions.

Ms. Dollbaum joined FLK in 1984, after beginning her law practice in Los Angeles and serving as an extern law clerk for Judge Laughlin Waters, U.S. District Court, Central District of California.

Ms. Dollbaum is AV Rated by Martindale-Hubbell and has been recognized as a Northern California Super Lawyer®.

Representative Matters

Lead trial counsel for the City of Lodi in complex federal environmental cost recovery litigation, and representing the City in related state and federal actions.

Representing the land owners conducting cleanup of unexploded military munitions discovered at a 220-acre formerly used defense site planned for a 430 unit residential subdivision in Northern California.

Defending manufacturers and retailers in lawsuits under California's Proposition 65 (Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act).

Representing home builders in state regulatory proceedings and in toxic tort and property damage cases brought by hundreds of homeowners alleging damages from environmental contamination at a former landfill.

Representing a builder of biotech laboratory facilities on environmental issues for Brownfields redevelopment, cleanup, and leasing of San Francisco Bay Area projects.

Representing California businesses in the rendering industry in actions involving public nuisance claims relating to air emissions and odors.

Representing manufacturers and landfill operator in federal cost recovery actions, related environmental cleanup efforts, and insurance coverage claims for nationally listed Superfund hazardous waste sites and state-listed sites in California.

Representing governmental agencies and project proponents in actions under the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA).

Advising businesses, nonprofit organizations, and individuals about environmental issues including hazardous waste storage and disposal, hazardous and toxic substances, mold, asbestos, solvents, Proposition 65 listed substances, radiation, dust, and odors.
