Maresa H. Torregrossa is as an associate in the firm’s Commercial Litigation Practice Group. Maresa’s practice focuses primarily on multi-state class actions and general commercial litigation, through which she has developed significant experience counseling the firm's clients with regard to electronic discovery issues and the development of policies to adequately preserve electronic data before and during litigation.
Class Action and Commercial Litigation. Maresa has experience in all aspects of commercial litigation, including defending clients in various types of consumer class actions and multidistrict litigation matters. Her litigation experience has ranged from matters involving contract disputes, challenges to sales and billing practices and the defense of products liability and trademark claims.
Electronic Discovery Counseling. Maresa has counseled the firm’s clients regarding the production and preservation of electronic discovery and has assisted in the creation and implementation of electronic data preservation policies. In aiding clients in meeting their electronic discovery obligations, she has worked with the clients’ internal information technology departments and interviewed system administrators and other key company employees and officers to locate, collect and organize relevant data. She has also assisted clients in drafting appropriate memoranda to be distributed within an organization to direct the preservation and handling of electronic data within the context of specific litigation matters.
In General. Maresa graduated cum laude from Dickinson College in 1998. In 2002, she graduated magna cum laude from Villanova University School of Law and was elected to the Villanova Chapter of the Order of the Coif. While at Villanova, she was published in and served as the managing editor of student works for the Villanova Law Review and served as a judicial intern to The Honorable Marjorie O. Rendell of the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit. Prior to joining Drinker Biddle & Reath, Maresa served as a law clerk to the Honorable Berle M. Schiller of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania from 2002 to 2004. In 2006, Maresa was recognized as a Pennsylvania Lawyer on the Fast Track by American Lawyer Media. |
