Marcel Zutter is executive vice president and head of operations and strategy development in State Street Global Markets. He has responsibility for Global Link, State Street's e-finance business, Global Markets middle-office operations, compliance, market and credit risk, as well as oversight for Global Markets' businesses in Canada.
Mr. Zutter’s previous role within State Street Corporation included responsibility for the Executive Operations and Strategy group, managing a center of excellence for the identification, development and analysis of strategic plans and alternatives in support of the company's CEO and executive board. Prior to this he was a managing director based in Zurich, Switzerland, responsible for the build-up of State Street's Investor Services business in Southern and Eastern Europe and the entity in Switzerland.
Prior to joining State Street in 1997, Mr. Zutter was a member of senior management at Credit Suisse Group. Over his 10 years there, he held management positions in the asset management and securities brokerage area of Credit Suisse, and also worked as a research analyst for Baring Securities in Hong Kong and Singapore. Prior to his career in the financial industry he was a consultant for Prognos, specializing in market analysis and strategy development for innovative products and new technologies, supporting major multinational organizations.
Mr. Zutter holds a Master's degree in international economics and business administration from Basle University. He is a graduate of the Swiss Banking School in Zurich and CS International Banking School in New York. He also completed the Advanced Management Program of Harvard Business School in Boston.
