Marc is a founding partner of Ironwood Capital and the investment advisors for its affiliated funds, the Ironwood Mezzanine Fund LP and Ironwood Equity Fund LP. He has overall management responsibility for all Ironwood Capital activities with a primary focus on strategic direction, business development, and investor and regulatory relations. He is a member of the investment committees for both of the Ironwood Capital funds.
He has extensive capital raising experience totaling over $5 billion along with direct middle market investment experience. Prior to co-founding Ironwood Capital in 1991, Marc was an investment professional with Aetna, Inc., initially as a private placement lender, then as the head of Aetna's investment banking subsidiary which became Ironwood Capital. He started his professional career as a bank examiner with the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation.
Marc is a member of the Board of Governors of the National Association of Small Business Investment Companies, a member of the University of Connecticut School of Business Advisory Board, and serves as an advisor to the Co-Operative Fund of New England. He is a graduate of the Venture Capital Institute and is a frequent speaker at educational seminars and professional conferences. |
