Dr. Manoj Chopra is vice president of pricing for Con-way Freight, the largest of Con-way Inc.’s three primary operating companies. Con-way Inc. is a $4.7 billion transportation and logistics company providing high-performance, day-definite less-than-truckload (LTL) and full truckload and intermodal freight transportation, as well as logistics, warehousing and supply chain management services, and trailer manufacturing.
As vice president of pricing for Con-way Freight, Dr. Chopra is responsible for developing pricing strategies and managing the pricing process for national accounts, local accounts and spot/wholesale channels. His responsibilities also include developing pricing tools and services that improve efficiency, accuracy and ease of use, and improving the cost model by partnering with operations and sales to increase the precision of customer profiles.
Dr. Chopra has more than a decade of experience in modeling complex business planning systems, pricing strategy and optimization, and demand forecasting processes. Prior to joining Con-way Freight in August 2007, he was director of pricing and demand planning and strategic analysis for RadioShack Corporation in Fort Worth, Texas. His career experience also includes work for FedEx Services in Memphis, Tenn., and i2 Technologies in Dallas.
Dr. Chopra has a bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology in Roorkee, India, and a master’s degree in industrial engineering from the Asian Institute of Technology in Thailand. He also holds a Ph.D. in industrial engineering from Kansas State University. He is based at Con-way Freight’s headquarters in Ann Arbor, Mich.
