Manley Williams is a partner of Buckley Kolar LLP. Her current practice focuses on retail financial services, with an emphasis on consumer protection and the specialized regulatory provisions applying to financial services for clients that include major credit card issuers, credit reporting agencies, and debt collection agencies. Prior to joining Buckley Kolar, Ms. Williams was Counsel at the Washington office of Wilmer Cutler Pickering, Hale and Dorr LLP. She was previously a staff attorney in the Legal Division and the Division of Consumer and Community Affairs at the Federal Reserve Board in Washington, DC. While at the Fed, Ms. Williams worked with Regulations Z (Truth in Lending), B (Equal Credit Opportunity), C (Home Mortgage Disclosure), X (Real Estate Settlement Procedures), and CC (Availability of Funds and Collection of Checks), as well as with monetary policy and community development issues. Other projects she worked on included developing legislative proposals for a new home financing act, drafting a Board report on check fraud, preparing a Board briefing on mutual fund redemption processes during periods of market turmoil, and drafting a new regulation concerning community development investments. Professional Activities Ms. Williams is a member of the District of Columbia bar and was Training Director of the Harvard Mediation Program. |
