Maninder Hora, Ph.D. has recently joined PDL BioPharma as Vice President, Process Development. Before PDL BioPharma, Dr. Hora was Vice President of Process and Product Development at Novartis Pharma AG (formerly Chiron Biopharmaceuticals) in Emeryville, Calif. In this position, Dr. Hora led a large group of scientists and engineers who performed all activities relating to process, formulation, assay and device development of proteins, antibodies and small molecules for preclinical, clinical and lifecycle development stages of drug development. Prior to this, Dr. Hora held pharmaceutical and drug delivery-focused positions of increasing responsibility within Chiron. Dr. Hora served as a key member of various teams that successfully registered eight drugs/vaccines in the U.S. and Europe during his 20-year tenure at Chiron. Dr. Hora has also held positions at Wyeth Pharmaceuticals and GlaxoSmithKline PLC. Dr. Hora completed his Ph.D. in Bioengineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi, India and was a Fulbright Scholar at the University of Washington, Seattle prior to joining the industry.
