Based in Frankfurt, Germany, Manfred leads BBK's operations group in Europe. He has almost 30 years of experience in Germany, the United States and Austria and brings to BBK his far-reaching expertise in purchasing, supplier development, quality, cost benchmarking and launch management. Professional Experience Prior to joining BBK, Manfred was the Executive Director Purchasing, responsible for Supplier Quality & Development at General Motors Europe. Among his accomplishments, Manfred successfully led and developed large, integrated operations teams across 14 European countries, achieved 30% reduction in plant disruptions, increased the share of purchasing activities in low cost countries from 18% to 35%, and significantly enhanced readiness rates for new launches by over 45%. As Executive Director of Purchasing, Supplier Quality & Readiness at GM/FIAT Worldwide Purchasing Joint Venture in Germany, Manfred successfully integrated the FIAT Auto Group into the quality processes of General Motors, led and developed 370 people across Europe, and achieved reduction of nok-rate by 85% across Joint-Venture. Manfred was also the Executive Director of Worldwide Purchasing at General Motors Truck Group in Pontiac, Michigan and was responsible for an annual purchase value of $16 billion, with 450 employees, for approximately 2.5 million trucks produced in 15 plants across the United States, Canada and Mexico. He achieved 4.2% material cost reduction versus the budgeted 2.5% in the first year and had a successful launch of full-size trucks in record time without volume losses caused by suppliers. hroughout his career with General Motors Europe, General Motors and Adam Opel AG, Manfred effected the restructuring of platform management, installed launch teams in all plants to enhance global best practices, secured material cost reductions, and led strategic implementation of new technologies in vehicle manufacturing.
