Mamadou Djire Biography :

Mamadou Djiré has been a research coordinator for the UNFPA-funded family planning and community-based distribution (FP/CBD) program in Mali since 2000. He is a monitoring and evaluation specialist and has worked on the design, implementation, and data analysis of operation research and monitoring and evaluation activities. Djiré joined the Population Council in 1997 as an operation research and information officer for the United States Agency for International Development-funded CBD National Program in Mali. Prior to joining the Council he was a research assistant at CERPOD (Center for Applied Research on Population and Development), implementing a framework of population observation, biographic data analysis, survival data analysis, and qualitative data analysis.

Djiré is an Ingénieur des Travaux Statistiques from IAMSEA (Institut Africain et Mauricien de Statistiques et d’Economie Appliquée) in Rwanda and received a masters degree in demography from Montréal University. Djire has more than 10 years of research and training experience in the field of population and development. He has reported research findings and given presentations at international conferences. He has also published papers about urbanization, marriage, family planning, and teenage sexual and reproductive health.
