Maite Aquino has been a partner of Sullivan & Cromwell since 2003. She has an active commercial litigation practice in federal and state court, specializing in securities, contract, antitrust, and intellectual property disputes. Ms. Aquino also has extensive experience in advising clients in connection with regulatory investigations and white collar internal investigations. Ms. Aquino has represented financial institutions, corporations and officers and directors in securities class and derivative actions. Most recently, Ms. Aquino has been representing a bank holding company and its affiliates in complex multi-district class-action litigation, shareholder derivative suits and regulatory investigations in connection with the company s restatement of financial statements. She has worked extensively in securities investigations involving bank regulators, such as the Federal Reserve, the FDIC, and the OTS, as well as the SEC, the NYSE, and the NASD. In addition, Ms. Aquino has represented clients in complex disputes involving intellectual property rights and claims of unfair competition. Recently, Ms. Aquino represented Philips in administrative and federal court proceedings involving the assertion of patent claims and claims of unfair competition and antitrust violations arising from the assertion of such patents. She is a member of S&C s Diversity Committee and serves on the Associate Quality of Life Committee. |
