Lynn Harrison Biography :

Practice

Co-chairman of the Restructuring and Insolvency Group at Curtis and a member of the Firm’s International Trade and Cross-Border Investment Group, Mr. Harrison has extensive experience in insolvency proceedings, workouts and liquidations on behalf of debtors, creditors and trustees, including representing foreign and domestic, public and private corporations, financial institutions, underwriters and governmental creditors in Chapter 11 reorganizations, structured financings, distressed trades, asset and stock sales, and acquisitions. Mr. Harrison is featured as one of the “leading lawyers on communicating with creditors, analyzing debt and filing for Bankruptcy” and one of the “great legal minds of today” by Aspatore Books in Best Practices for Corporate Restructuring (2006). Mr. Harrison has spoken and lectured on insolvency-related matters throughout the United States, Europe, Latin America and Far East.

Consistent with the international nature of Curtis’ overall practice, Mr. Harrison is engaged in the Firm’s representation as co-counsel to the Italian Extraordinary Administrator of Parmalat SpA and its affiliates in connection with the restructuring of certain Parmalat SpA’s subsidiaries in the United States and Latin America. In addition, Mr. Harrison recently represented the foreign representative of the first successful ancillary proceeding initiated by a “sindico” (a Mexican liquidator) in the United States since the enactment of Mexico’s Ley de Concurso Mercantiles, the Mexican insolvency law. Among the significant domestic insolvency matters handled by Mr. Harrison, he represented several major creditors, including Williams Power Company, in the Enron Chapter 11 cases and spearheaded the Firm’s representation as Conflicts Counsel for the Chapter 11 Debtor-In-Possession Silicon Graphics, Inc. and its affiliates. He is presently assisting the Firm’s Chapter 11 representation of PlusFunds Group, Inc., the hedge fund manager of the Cayman Islands based SPhinX Funds, and Source Enterprises, Inc., the publisher of “The Source” Magazine.

Mr. Harrison is admitted to the bars of the State of New York and the District of Columbia, and to the United States District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York and the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit.
