Luke McCahan heads the industrial division of the Statistical Recruiting Group at Smith Hanley Associates, LLC, specializing in the placement of operations researchers and industrial statisticians. Developing long-term working relationships with candidates and clients is one of the biggest challenges, as well as one of the greatest rewards of this business, he says. I also enjoy participating in professional organizations and communities. He is an active member of the Institute for Operations Research and Management Sciences (INFORMS) and the American Society for Quality (ASQ), which keeps him current on emerging trends in a variety of industries.

Luke gained extensive operations and logistics management experience as a U.S. Army officer and joined SHA in 1998 from West Point, where he was a regional director of recruiting. He currently serves as a Colonel in the U.S. Army Reserves. He holds a BS in business administration from the University of Alabama and an MS in organizational development from Marymount University in Arlington, Virginia.
