Law Practice Lowell Peterson, a Member of Meyer, Suozzi, English & Klein, P.C., practices in the areas of labor, ERISA, bankruptcy, and litigation. He practices in federal district courts, courts of appeals, and bankruptcy courts, in state court, and federal agencies such as the National Labor Relations Board and the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. Previously, he was an attorney at Vladek, Waldman Elias & Engelhard, P.C., and Robinson Silverman Pearce Aronsohn & Berman, both in New York City, where his practice included all aspects of labor law, including ERISA litigation and advice, contract negotiations, bankruptcy and other federal litigation, National Labor Relations Board work, arbitrations and general advice, as well as commercial bankruptcy and litigation. Mr. Peterson was the Mayor Pro Tem for the City of Ann Arbor, Michigan from 1985 until 1987. His duties included chairing meetings, signing contracts and assuming all mayoral duties when the mayor was unavailable. He was a member of the Ann Arbor City Council from 1981 until 1987. Elected to three terms, Mr. Peterson represented the First Ward’s 21,000 residents and was responsible for the development and implementation of legislation and policy, constituent service, public speaking, committee work, interfacing with the press, political negotiations, campaigning, organizing and writing.Professional Affiliations Mr. Peterson was a member of the Board of Directors of the AFL-CIO Lawyers’ Coordinating Committee from 1995 until 2000.
