Louis M. Jacobs is executive vice president of Delaware North Companies. Delaware North Companies is a global leader in hospitality and food service and one of the largest privately held companies in the United States with more than $2.0 billion in annual revenue and 50,000 associates serving one half of a billion customers in the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and the United Kingdom.
In his leadership post, Mr. Jacobs has helped guide the rapid growth and prosperity of the company’s diverse business. Mr. Jacobs is currently responsible for the company’s long-term growth strategies and business planning process, including the analysis of opportunities for growth both organically and through acquisition.
Mr. Jacobs began his career with Delaware North in 1986 when he joined the company’s gaming division. In 1988, he was named vice president and given responsibility for expanding the pari-mutuel operations. He relocated to Sydney, Australia, in 1993 to assume the position of chairman of Delaware North (Australia) Pty Ltd, a division of Delaware North Companies International. In 1994, Jacobs was appointed president of Delaware North Companies International, with overall responsibility for the subsidiary holdings in the Pacific Rim, Middle East and Eastern Europe. He returned to the company’s world headquarters and was appointed to his current position as executive vice president of Delaware North Companies in 1995.
An active member of the community, Mr. Jacobs is a director of The Martin House Restoration Corporation, The National Conference of Community and Justice, Harvard-Radcliffe Club of Western New York and Harvard Committee on University Resources. In addition, he is the alternate governor for the Boston Bruins National Hockey League franchise and a member of Young Presidents Organization.
Mr. Jacobs is an accomplished equestrian, holding considerable honors both nationally and globally. As a representative of the United States Equestrian team, Mr. Jacobs has participated in numerous world class events, including two World Cup Finals. His current equestrian activities include membership of the board of directors for Stadium Jumping, American Grand Prix Association, Lake Placid Horse Show, The National Horse Show, and United States Equestrian Team Foundation.
Jacobs received his bachelor’s degree from Harvard University in 1986 and his master’s degree in business administration from Harvard University School of Business in 1991.
Mr. Jacobs and his wife Joan live in East Aurora, New York and Wellington, Florida with their two children. |
