Louis A. Uccello is an Associate in the firm’s Litigation & Insurance Services Department and a member of the firm’s Class Action Group. He has been admitted to practice law in the State of New Jersey, the State of New York, and the U.S. District Court of New Jersey since 2005. In 2009, he was admitted to practice in the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit. Mr. Uccello’s legal experience and practice includes the following: insurance defense (including serious personal injury, products liability, and wrongful death matters); construction litigation (including representation of owners, design professionals, and contractors against claims involving worksite accidents, violations, governmental investigations, and environmental and contamination issues); and complex litigation (including complex commercial claims and class action matters).
Mr. Uccello earned his B.A. degree in 2001 from Fordham University, where he was a member of the Lambda Pi Eta Honors Society and the Finance Society. In addition to his B.A., he earned a certificate in Peace & Justice Studies. In 2004, Mr. Uccello earned his law degree from Seton Hall University School of Law. While at Seton Hall, Mr. Uccello was a member of the Journal of Sports & Entertainment Law and a Gressman Moot Court competitor.
During law school, Mr. Uccello served as a public interest Fellow for Central Jersey Legal Services. As a Fellow, he represented indigent clients before the Courts under New Jersey’s student practice rule. He also served as a Law Intern to the Chief Counsel of the State of New York Grievance Committee for the Second and Eleventh Judicial Districts.
Following law school, Mr. Uccello served as a judicial Law Clerk to the Honorable Bryan D. Garruto, J.S.C. in the Law Division of the Superior Court of New Jersey. At that time, Judge Garruto maintained civil and mass tort dockets. Thereafter, Mr. Uccello completed the Joseph Halpern-David Furman American Inn of Court in 2007. As a member of the Inn, he engaged in advanced trial advocacy training alongside distinguished attorneys and judges from the State of New Jersey.
Mr. Uccello actively engages in continuing legal education and has completed construction-related courses of study. He is a member of the Civil Trial and Construction Law sections of the New Jersey State Bar Association. He is also a member of the New Jersey chapter of the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), a coalition of building industry leaders committed to advancing structures that are environmentally responsible, profitable, and healthy |
