Dr. Lorraine L. Wearley, Vice President, Chemistry and Product Development, brings not only a scientific background, but a skill for motivating a team to develop an end product involving thorough research and timely delivery. Dr. Wearley's past positions include over 12 years of research and development at Johnson & Johnson (personal care products), as well as another dozen years prior with Schering-Plough Corporation as Senior Scientist. While at Johnson & Johnson, she was instrumental in securing key positions for each Woman's Health brand through consistent launching of innovative products and claims. The broad spectrum of products developed were based on Consumer and Physician insight and unmet needs. Dr. Wearley served as a key member of the Personal Product Company Board of Directors, providing critical technical guidance on strategic planning, acquisitions and annual business plans. She also revamped the Regulatory function, which supported all of the Consumer Products franchises, including toiletries, devices, and drug products and created a Global Regulatory Community with annual meetings and global regulatory requirements accessible on-line. In addition, Dr. Wearley gained an excellent track record in obtaining FDA approval in a minimum time (decreased by two months over industry average) due to her excellent reputation in the industry and a mutual respect. Dr. Wearley's industry expertise has been highly recognized. She has coauthored numerous peer-reviewed publications and was awarded, with a team, important patents, including Personal Lubricant Compositions, and Stable Hydrated Cephalosporin Dry Powder for Oral Suspension Formulation. |
