Lori E. Hood joined Drinker Biddle in 2006. She is an associate in the Environmental Practice Group.
Transactional. Lori assists in evaluating and allocating environmental liabilities and quantifying risks in corporate real estate and financing transactions. Pairing her technical background with her legal expertise, Lori assists in developing and implementing scopes of work for environmental due diligence for divestitures and acquisitions. Lori drafts transactional documents and assists in negotiating insurance policies. She also represents remediation contractors in connection with the reuse and redevelopment of closed military bases, including early transfers. Within that representation, she assists in the negotiation with federal and state agencies as well as other stakeholders to develop liability protections. Lori was involved in the early transfer at the former Fort Ord Army Base in Monterey, California.
Litigation. Lori has litigated insurance defense matters in the areas of products liability, professional liability and intellectual property. Lori also assists in the litigation of complex multi-party environmental matters.
In General. Lori received her B.S. in environmental science from Lehigh University in 1994 and her J.D. from Widener University School of Law in Wilmington, Delaware in 2004. At Widener, Lori was a clinic intern at the Widener Environmental Law Clinic and received the Jerry L. Shields Award for excellence in environmental law. She also served as the Internal Managing Editor of the Widener Law Review.
Prior to embarking on her legal career, Lori worked for seven years as an environmental consultant. She was employed for the majority of this time by URS Corporation (Dames & Moore) where she advanced to the level of Senior Environmental Scientist in the Due Diligence Group.
Professional Memberships. Lori is a member of the American Bar Association, Section of Environment, Energy and Resources, Pennsylvania and Philadelphia Bar Associations. She is also an active member and Inn Counselor with the Delaware Valley Environmental American Inn of Court and member of the Society of Women Environmental Professionals. |
