Loren K. Carroll is currently an independent consultant and an advisor to Smith International, Inc. From March 1994 until April 2006, Mr. Carroll served as President and Chief Executive Officer of M-I SWACO, and Executive Vice-President of Smith International, Inc, a worldwide supplier of drilling fluids and related equipment and services to the Oil and Gas Industry. M-I SWACO is owned 60% by Smith International, Inc. From 1992 until 1994 Mr. Carroll served as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Smith International, Inc. He rejoined Smith International in 1992. Mr. Carroll currently serves as a director of Forest Oil Corporation, Fleetwood Enterprises, Inc., and CGGVeritas, Inc. Mr. Carroll joined the Board in April 2007. He is a member of the Audit Committee, Compensation Committee, Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Committee, and Nominating and Corporate Governance Committees. |
