Loren has been focused on strategic sourcing for over 15 years, with an emphasis on helping companies achieve increased net income without reducing headcount. He specializes in the use of non-salary specific methodologies, tools and techniques such as incumbent and competitive supplier sourcing strategies, turnkey procurement, demand management, contract compliance, data-mining and forensic analysis.

Prior to joining Huron, Loren was a partner with Arthur Andersen's Strategic Sourcing team. He has extensive experience with Fortune 100 companies in a variety of industries.
Representative examples of Loren's engagement experience include:
Led an engagement with a $10B logistics company. Helped identify and implement more than $25M in savings related to office products, paper and forms, equipment leasing and technology.
Led an engagement with a $5B manufacturing company. Performed a detailed review of insurance expenses and other non-salary expenses related to human resources. The implementation process included a revision of the vendor sourcing and selection process. The process resulted in facilitating and soliciting input from senior management, human resources and end users including union representatives. The process also involved preparing and sending detailed and specific "Requests for Proposals" to vendors, developing comprehensive negotiation tools and analytical tools to evaluate offers from vendors. As a result of benchmarking and detailed action plans, non-salary expenses were reduced by more than 10%.
Led an engagement with a $1B professional services company and reviewed travel expenses for a multi-national professional services company, identifying and implementing a proven cost reduction methodology that resulted in savings of more than 20%.
