Lloyd J. Derrickson has been engaged in the private practice of law in Washington, D.C. since 1988. He is President of Dyad Pharmaceuticals Corporation and is a director of Ribopharm, Inc., Reading is Fundamental, and The Freed Foundation. He is a former director of Transcell Technologies, Inc, and Crown American Services Fund. From 1976 to 1998, Mr. Derrickson served as Vice President and General Counsel of Merrill Lynch & Co., Inc. in New York and was the firm s Washington representative. As General Counsel, he was responsible for all legal and regulatory matters for Merrill Lynch and its affiliates worldwide. In Washington, he was responsible for dealing with the federal government in all matters involving legislative, regulatory and political concerns. Prior to joining Merrill Lynch, Mr. Derrickson served as Senior Vice President and General Counsel for the National Association of Securities Dealers, Inc. in Washington, D.C. As chief legal officer, he was responsible for all legal matters and assisted in the formation of both the NASDAQ system and the National Clearing Corporation and was their General Counsel. Mr. Derrickson also engaged in the private practice of law from 1958 to 1962 in Washington, D.C., and served as law clerk for Judge Samuel E. Whitaker at the United States Court of Claims from 1955 to 1957. He is a 1947 graduate of Kenyon College (Economics) and a 1955 Graduate of the George Washington University School of Law where he was editor of the Law Review. He served on active duty in the United States Coast Guard as a Lt. (JG) from 1951 to 1953. |
