Liz Collinson joined InterContinental Hotels Group in February 1999 and was appointed Vice President, Legal & General Counsel based in Singapore on 1st November 1999. She is responsible for directing and co-ordinating all legal matters in Asia Pacific and ensuring the Group's business are conducted in compliance with the law.
Liz also provides legal support to the Managing Director and Functional & Operations Heads and oversees Asia Pacific Legal Team based in Singapore, Beijing, Sydney and shortly Shanghai and Global Corporate Services Functions (Risk Management, Corporate Secretariat and Trademarks) for Asia Pacific. She has been closely involved in key acquisitions, (notably SPHC and InterContinental Hong Kong acquisitions) and numerous joint venture investments which have enhanced the Group's distribution network of more than 180 hotels bearing the InterContinental, Crowne Plaza and Holiday Inn brands.
From 1988 - 1999, Liz was in private practice in Australia as a commercial property lawyer where she gained extensive experience in commercial, property, corporate law and mergers & acquisitions. Immediately prior to her appointment with the Group, Liz was based in Melbourne with Baker & McKenzie's, Hotel & Resorts Division.
Liz holds a Bachelor of Arts and Laws degrees from the University of Tasmania. She was accredited as a Property Law Specialist of the Law Institute of Victoria Australia in 1998 and continues as a Member of the Law Institute of Victoria, Law Council of Australia and Singapore Corporate Counsel Association.
She brings with her over 16 years commercial legal and management experience focussed in the tourism, hospitality, lodging and leisure industry. Extensively travelled, well versed in business particularly in Asia and serves as Director on the Board of in access of 100 Group companies.
Liz is married to John and together they have a 3-year daughter, Isabella and a 1-year old son, Sebastian. |
