Lisa Durham is an Associate with Krieg DeVault. She has expertise in a wide range of qualified plan and other employee benefit plan matters, including 401(k), money purchase and employee stock ownership plans (ESOPs). She works with the design and drafting of all types of retirement plans. Mrs. Durham had eight years of consulting, compliance and administration experience with qualified plans prior to coming to Krieg DeVault. She uses this experience in helping plan sponsors, trustees and third party administrators on both day-to-day and major administration issues. Mrs. Durham also works with Internal Revenue Service and Department of Labor representatives on a daily basis. She also has extensive experience in the correcting of retirement plan qualification failures under the IRS's Employee Plans Compliance Resolution System (EPCRS).
In the area of ESOPs, Mrs. Durham has experience in stock purchase and sale transactions, ESOP loans, plan design, repurchase liability options, governance, fiduciary education, testing, and correction of operational failures and prohibited transactions. She has designed and drafted ESOP documents for S Corporations and C Corporations of all sizes.
Mrs. Durham graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana/Champaign with a Bachelor of Arts in English Education. She is a Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (CEBS) and has been a Certified Employee Benefit Specialists Fellow. She graduated magna cum laude from the Indiana University School of Law Indianapolis. Mrs. Durham is a member of the Indiana State Bar Association and the American Bar Association, and a member of the Indiana Benefits Conference, the International Society of Certified Employee Benefit Specialists, the Ohio Employee Ownership Center, The ESOP Association and The National Center for Employee Ownership.
