Dr. Lionel Reilly has served as the President & CEO for PVPL since 1995. His initial position was as consultant to structure, organize, and implement the animal health products purchasing corporation began in 1982. In January 1983, he was hired as the first employee. The company had sales of over $1 million in its first year. In 1986, Dr. Reilly was named Vice-President of Business Operations for the emerging company. Today with a staff of 300, PVPL is one of the nation’s largest animal health products distributors.
Prior to joining PVPL, Dr. Reilly was with Burns-Biotec Laboratories (acquired by Schering-Plough Animal Health), Omaha, NE, from 1977 to 1982. His career progression led from Technical Services Veterinarian to Director of Pharmaceutical Operations with responsibilities for all research and manufacturing activities. Dr. Reilly was a partner in a six-doctor companion animal practice in Denver, CO, from 1972 to 1977, and served as post veterinarian at Hunter Army Airfield, Savannah, GA, from 1970 to 1972.
Dr. Reilly holds professional memberships with AVMA, AAHA, AASP, AABP, AAIV, AAVPT; and is a member of both the Nebraska and Kansas Veterinary Medical Associations.
He received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Chemistry & Zoology from Kansas Wesleyan University, Salina, KS, in 1966; and his Bachelor of Science in Liberal Arts in 1968 and his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 1970, both from Kansas State University, Manhattan, KS. |
