Dr. Yaswen-Corkery was appointed the Chief Compliance Officer for MetaMorphix®, Inc. in 2004. In this role she is responsible for developing and managing the Company’s compliance program to insure that it is satisfying its fiduciary responsibilities related to the required regulatory obligations. Dr. Yaswen-Corkery reports directly to the MetaMorphix® Board of Directors. She joined MetaMorphix®, Inc. in 1997 directing the Company’s lead research program on Myostatin. She was promoted to Director of Business Development in 1999 and to Vice President Business Development in 2001 to manage all aspects of worldwide business development efforts, including analyzing new business and technical opportunities; assessing potential markets for new product development; and negotiating and maintaining R&D contracts, collaborations, and agreements.
Prior to joining MetaMorphix®, Inc., Dr. Yaswen-Corkery was a Senior Staff Fellow at the NIH National Institute of Mental Health, Molecular Genetics Section. From 1993 to 1994, she conducted postdoctoral studies at the NIH on Transforming Growth Factor-beta-1. Dr. Yaswen-Corkery received a B.S. in biology from the State University of New York at Stony Brook and a Ph.D. in molecular immunology and pathology from the University of Florida , Department of Medicine. |
