Liane Ramirez Swierk joined Goodman Media Inernational, Inc., in June of 2002. As a Vice president in New York, Ramirez Swierk oversees day-to-day media initiatives for clients in the fields of television, entertainment, retail and publishing. An expert on the Hispanic media market, Ramirez Swierk oversees corporate communications for Spanish-Ianguage television network, Telemundo. She has created and executed national media campaigns for Latina magazine and Siempre Mujer. Additionally she has devised and managed national publicity campaigns for Neiman Marcus, NeimanMarcus.xom and reepresented the four major record labels (SonyBMG, Universsal Music group, ENI and Warner Music Group) on the launch of DualDisc, a new industry-wide initiative. Most recently, Ramirez Swierk worked on the national campaign for the Wall Streer Journal Online's 10 year anniversary as well as managed the day-to-day national outreach of the Joumal's Weekend Joumal including, Pursuits and Personal Journal. On the television front, Ramirez Swierk spearheaded the successful U.S. Iaunches of Scholastic Media's Emmy-award winning "Clifford's Puppy Cays" and the critically acclaimed, Emmy-nominated animated series "Maya & Miguel.", Reamirez Swierk's carreer spans the broadcast news, public relations. publishing and entertainment industries. She began her career in broadcast news in 1993 at CBS News. as the closed-caption coordinator for the "CBS Evening News with Dan Rather," where she was the primary lisison between the news executives and the closed caption agency at WGBH in Boston, MA. In addition to proofreading and editing scripts for evening news broadcasts and live special reports, Ramirez Swierk also assisted producers in researching segments for national broadcast. From 1993-2000 Ramirez Swierk worked exclusively for prominent news anchor Cnnie Chung, where she managed all publicity and media requests, photo shoots and special events. In 2000, Ramirez Swierk made a transition from the corporate world to the Urban entertainment. industry as the Managing Editor for Soul Purpose.com, an electronic newsletter and website that targeted executives in the music, film, fashion and sports industries. While the publication was at its peak, she was at the helm managing the day to day operations of the website, including three weekly newsletters distributed to over 30,000 subscribers and created a newswire for distribution to New York's Hip Hop and R&B radil station Hot 97 (WQHT). Ramirez Swierk also handled all media and publicity efforts for choreographer/actor. Darrin dewitt Henson of Showtime's "Soul Food." Prior to joining Goodman Media, she co-created and Iaunched, Latino Impact, a trade publication covering the Latin Entertainment business; the first of it's kind. She interviewed some of Latin entertainment's hottest stars including multi-grammy winner, Colombian singer Juanes, Mexican actors Gael garcia Bernal and Diego Luna, Iegendary Queen of Salsa, Celia Cruz and Spain's mega-artist, Alejandro Sanz. Born to a Spanish mother and Costa Rican father, Ramirez Swierk is fluent in Spanich and brings her knowledge of the Latin entertainment business to Goodman Media. A native New Yorker, Ramirez Swierk graduated cum laude with a BFA in Communications/Public Relations from C.W. Post/ Long Island university and resides in Manhattan with her husband, Jeff Swierk. |
