College Career:
Originally recruited at Penn State as a defensive lineman, Brown spent his redshirt freshman season on the scout team. After converting to offensive tackle in his sophomore season, he went on to become a two-time All-American and one of the most dominant offensive linemen in the country. Over 60% of the Nittany Lions ground yardage was the result of key blocks by Brown over his last two seasons, during which time Brown registered 136 knockdowns/key blocks, with 23 resulting in touchdowns.
2006: Second-team All-America selection by The Sporting News and the Walter Camp Foundation also adding All-Big Ten Conference second-team honors his senior season started 11 games at left tackle, sitting out the Northwestern and Minnesota contests after he injured his knee posted 61 key blocks/knockdowns with nine touchdown-resulting blocks.
2005: Sports Illustrated and Associated Press All-American second-team choice as a junior while adding first-team All-Big Ten Conference honors instrumental in helping Penn State lead the Big Ten in scoring (35.2 ppg) and rank second in rushing (233.1 ypg) started all 12 games at left tackle, participating in a career-high 869 plays allowed only one quarterback sack and was penalized just twice while delivering 75 knockdowns/key blocks delivered 14 touchdown-resulting blocks and 11 others downfield.
2004: Started nine games at left tackle and the Iowa game at right tackle helped plow the way for 300 yards or more of offense in five games and a two-year high of 352 yards rushing in the season-opener with Akron was instrumental in helping the offense improve during the second half of the season, including rushing efforts of 177 yards at Ohio State and 192 yards in the season-ending win over Michigan State registered 35 knockdowns and seven touchdown-resulting blocks.
2003: Was listed as a starting defensive tackle in spring drills, but the coaching staff shifted him to the offensive line in fall camp along with center Dave Costlow, the pair were the lone offensive linemen to start every game helped the Nittany Lions gain more than 400 yards four times and rush for more than 225 yards on three occasions was on the field for 841 snaps, the most of any offensive player finished with eight touchdown-resulting blocks and 65 knockdowns.
