Leora Goren is Senior Managing Director and Chief Human Resource Officer for Countrywide Financial Corporation, (NYSE:CFC), a diversified financial services provider and member of the S&P 500.
Goren is responsible for all employee-related strategies, operations and programs within the Human Resources Department. She was named Executive Vice President, Human Resources, in 2000, having previously served as Senior Vice President, Assistant General Counsel, a position in which she was responsible for employment-related legal issues and other litigation matters for Countrywide.
Prior to joining Countrywide in 1995, Goren practiced law in Los Angeles, California, at Epstein, Turner and Song, and Gartner & Young. She specialized in labor and employment law, and employment and business litigation.
Goren holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology from the University of California, Berkeley, and a J.D. degree from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law. She is an active member of the Bar of the State of California. Goren is a member of the Board of Directors of the Pasadena, California, chapter of Rebuilding Together, an organization which rehabilitates homes for residents who are elderly, disabled or low-income families with children. |
