Leon Ma jointed Magnus as a geologist in the late Summer of 2005. With Masters degrees in Earth Science and in Computer Science, over 10 years of experience in geological survey and mineral exploration, and language proficiency in both English and Mandarin, Magnus believes that Mr. Ma will be a valuable asset to the Company in the coordination and planning of existing and future exploration programs in China.
Mr. Ma obtained his Masters of Science in Computer Science in 2004 from Concordia University, Montreal, his Masters of Science in Earth Science in 2002 from Université Laval, Quebec, and his Bachelor of Science (Geochemistry) in 1985 from Beijing University, China. While obtaining his various degrees, Mr. Ma also frequently maintained employment as an exploration geologist and lectured as a sessional instructor.
Mr. Ma’s practical geological experience includes:
Study of the Changba and Dengjiashan Zn-Pb deposits in the Qinling Orogenic belt in China;
Study of the Yindongzi Ag-Pb-Zn deposit, and Bafangshan Pb-Zn-Cu deposit, China;
Exploration for gold deposits in Lynn Lake greenstone belt in Northern Manitoba;
Study of the Changba Zn-Pb deposit in China and the Sudbury Ni-Cu deposit in Canada;
Leadership of two 1:50,000 geological surveys (Baihe and Sanca) in the Qinling Orogenic belt in Shaanxi and Hubei Province in China;
Participation in the exploration of the Lantian Au deposit and the Tongmugou Zn-Pb deposit, China;
Completion of two 1: 50,000 geological surveys (Xujiadian and Qingshan) in Shaanxi Province, China, and;
Study of the Tianjianshan Au deposit in Qinghai Province, China.
Mr Ma has also been the recipient of the Excellent Geological Map award issued by the Ministry of Resources, China. |
