Leo A. Helmers is a Managing Director of The Carlyle Group and co-head of Carlyle Mezzanine Partners, L.P. He is based in New York.
Prior to joining Carlyle in August 2003, Mr. Helmers was a Senior Vice President with TCW/Crescent Mezzanine Partners and Trust Company of the West, where he was responsible for investing and managing a portfolio of mezzanine capital across three private limited partnerships.
Prior to joining TCW, Mr. Helmers was a Managing Director of Hamilton Lane Advisors, Inc. Mr. Helmers has over 16 years of experience in the private debt and equity markets. Mr. Helmers is currently a member of the Board of Directors of Combined Systems, Inc. and Shari’s Management Corporation and a Board Observer of American Achievement Corporation and Hawkeye Concrete Products Company.
Mr. Helmers received his M.B.A. from Temple University and a B.S. from Lafayette College. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst. |
