Len Shannon is a Mississippi State University accounting graduate. He obtained his Master of Business Administration from Millsaps College’s Else School of Management. He is a senior financial executive, with more than 20 years of corporate accounting experience, whose career encompasses a broad array of accounting, business and administrative issues.Len was previously the Corporate Director of Accounting at Jackson, MS based ChemFirst Inc., a New York Stock Exchange, publicly traded chemical company acquired by DuPont Chemical in November 2002. ChemFirst Inc. was spun off from First Mississippi Corporation in 1996. Len began with First Mississippi Corporation in 1981, holding progressively responsible accounting positions during his career.His accounting background includes the supervision of the daily accounting functions at a corporate headquarters, consolidation of subsidiary financial information, SEC reporting, annual report preparation, benefit plans responsibility, policy and procedure and internal control review. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Mississippi Society of Certified Public Accountants.Len joined MMI as Controller in August 2004. |
