Dr. Michaelis served as the first Chief of the Division of Cardiothoracic Surgery at Northwestern University Medical School (NUMS) and Northwestern Memorial Hospital (NMH), Chief Medical Officer and Senior Vice-President of Medical Affairs at NMH and Associate Dean of NUMS. Currently, he is a Tenured Professor of Surgery at NUMS and teaches US and International Healthcare Economics for DePaul University and the International Bank of Asia in Hong Kong. |
