Lawrence Samuels was promoted to Executive Vice President in March 2007 and has been our Chief Financial Officer since May 2000. He is also a member of UTi Worldwide’s Management Board along with Roger MacFarlane Tiger Wessels John Hextall and Gene Ochi. Lawrence was part of the executive management team preparing our company for our initial public offering in the U.S. on NASDAQ in November 2000. In addition to his duties as our Chief Financial Officer he oversees all investor relations communications. Previously he was Financial Director of our subsidiary Pyramid Freight (Proprietary) Ltd. Before that Lawrence served as the Financial Manager of Sun Couriers an express courier operation in South Africa and another subsidiary of UTi. He also was the Financial Manager for Adfreight (Pty) Ltd. which later merged into Sun Couriers. Lawrence received a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of the Witwatersrand and is a qualified Chartered Accountant in South Africa.
