Dr. Lichtenstein is a recognized expert in the field of allergy and immunology. He is director of the Division of Clinical Immunology at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, and serves on the National Advisory Council, Allergy and Infectious Diseases of the National Institutes of Health (NIH). He has a long association with both institutions, initially joining the University staff in 1966 and serving various terms at the NIH since 1972. In addition, Dr. Lichtenstein has received a variety of honors and awards for his research, and has served on the editorial boards of a variety of publications including The Journal of Allergy and Clinical Immunology, The Journal of Immunology, and others. Dr. Lichtenstein received his M.D. from the University of Chicago and his Ph.D. in immunology from Johns Hopkins University.
