Laurette T. Koellner is senior vice president of The Boeing Company and president of Boeing International. She was elected to the board of directors of Sara Lee Corporation in 2003. She serves as chair of the Audit Committee and is a member of the Executive Committee and Finance Committee.
Koellner began her career in the aerospace industry in 1978 when she joined McDonnell Douglas as an analyst in Contracts, holding various positions of increasing responsibility over the years. In 1986 she managed contracts and pricing for the Missile Systems Company in Titusville, Florida, became business manager for the Tomahawk Cruise Missile Program in 1988 and in 1989, directed strategic and business planning. In 1990, she became responsible for the internal support and services operation for the Florida Missile Production facility. In 1992 she moved to St. Louis where she was responsible for structuring and managing the overhead budget for McDonnell Douglas Aerospace. She became director of the human resources division in 1994 and was promoted to vice president general auditor of the corporation in 1996. She held this key position through the merger of Boeing and McDonnell Douglas in 1997. In 1999 she was named vice president corporate controller. Koellner was named president - Shared Services Group in 2000. She was elected executive vice president Internal Services in 2002, responsible for the Boeing Shared Services Group and for international relationships with Africa, the Americas and Russia. She also served as the chief people and administration officer of The Boeing Company. Koellner became president of Connexion by Boeing in 2004 and was appointed to her current position in April 2006.
She is a member of the board of directors of Exostar and The Chicagoland Chamber of Commerce. Koellner is a member of The Economic Club of Chicago, The Society of Human Resources Management and serves on the University of Portland Board of Regents and the University of Central Florida College of Business Administration Dean’s Executive Council. She served as president of the McDonnell Douglas St. Louis Management Association and on the board of Seattle’s Intiman Theatre.
Koellner earned a bachelor’s degree in business management from the University of Central Florida and a masters of business administration degree from Stetson University in Deland, Florida. She holds a Certified Professional Contracts Manager designation from the National Contracts Management Association. In 2003, Koellner was inducted into the University of Central Florida’s College of Business Administration Hall Fame.
