Larry has more than 30 years of experience as a certified public accountant, but his exposure to accounting goes back even further. "My father worked for an accounting firm in Boston, so I was raised with that influence," he said. "That experience, coupled with the fact that I was always good with figures, moved me in this direction." What has held his interest in accounting, he said, is "the diversity of dealing with different issues on different days with different clients. Today I may be assisting a client in completing a financial statement to be filed with the SEC. Tomorrow I may meet with a client regarding a tax issue, and the next day a client trying to buy or sell a business." Larry coordinates the firm's Quality Control Program and finds that one of his biggest challenges is "keeping abreast of new professional standards issued by the AICPA, FASB, PCAOB and SEC. This is becoming a full-time job in and of itself." When he is not practicing accounting, he enjoys playing golf and reading fiction; especially books by Tom Clancy.
