Dr. Lauren McDonald is the current chair of the Parkland Board of Managers. She is also a board-certified nephrologist and a partner in Dallas Nephrology Associates.
She holds a Bachelor of Science Degree with honors in Biochemistry from Brown University. She also completed her medical education at Temple University School of Medicine. Dr. McDonald completed a residency in Internal Medicine at St. Paul Medical Center, where she also served as Chief Medicine Resident. Additionally, she completed a nephrology clinical fellowship at Parkland Memorial Hospital and a nephrology research fellowship at The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center. Dr. McDonald is a Diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine.
Dr. McDonald has been a member of the Board of Managers for six years. In addition to her current position, she has also served as secretary and vice chair, and chaired the Human Resources, Quality & Risk Management Committee, Joint Conference Committee and the Executive Compensation Committee. She has also served as president of the St. Paul Medical Center staff, Chairman of the Pharmacy Therapeutics Committee and has been a member of the Dallas County Medical Society Board of Directors. She is a member of the American Medical Association, the International Society of Peritoneal Dialysis, the American Society of Nephrology, the Dallas County Medical Society, the Texas Medical Association, the National Kidney Foundation, Texas Lyceum Association, and the Junior League of Dallas. Dr. McDonald is the recipient of the 2000 AMA Leadership Award, and "She Knows Where She is Going" from Girls, Inc. |
