Larry is a tax partner in the Brownsville office of Burton McCumber & Cortez, L.L.P. Larry received his undergraduate and graduate degrees from Sam Houston State University and obtained his Certified Public Accountant certificate in 1978.
EXPERIENCE
Prior to joining Grant Thornton in 1980, Larry worked for Carter, Huff & Leowandowski, a local public accounting firm in Conroe, Texas. While with Grant Thornton, Larry advanced to Senior Tax Manager. He was promoted to partner soon after Burton McCumber & Cortez, L.L.P. acquired the Rio Grande Valley offices of Grant Thornton in 1991.
Larry has experience in all facets of public accounting practice, including audits of financial institutions, tax planning and income tax return preparation, component depreciation studies, consultation on various estate and trust matters, business valuations and litigation support. Larry specializes in implementation and monitoring of retirement plans.
