As chief operating officer of The Ryland Group Inc. Larry Nicholson is responsible for overseeing Ryland Homes' national homebuilding purchasing and safety operations.
Mr. Nicholson has more than 25 years of experience in the homebuilding industry. He joined Ryland in March 1996 as vice president of operations for the Southeast region and subsequently ran the Greenville and Orlando divisions.
In 2004 Mr. Nicholson was promoted to president of Ryland Homes' Southeast region where he was responsible for homebuilding operations in North Carolina South Carolina Florida and Georgia. He assumed his current position in June 2007.
Mr. Nicholson previously served as vice president of Berman Development Corporation in Philadelphia and vice president of construction for Transeastern Properties in Coral Springs Florida. Upon graduation from college Mr. Nicholson was a player in the Pittsburgh Pirates Baseball Organization.
Mr. Nicholson received a bachelor's degree from Ohio University in 1979.
