Mr. Glasscock joined Anthem Insurance in April 1998 as Senior Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. He was named President and Chief Operating Officer in April 1999 and President and Chief Executive officer in October 1999. Mr. Glasscock was named President and Chief Executive Officer of Anthem, Inc. in July 2001. Prior to joining Anthem Insurance, Mr. Glasscock served as Chief Operating Officer of CareFirst, Inc. from January through April 1998 and he served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Group Hospitalization & Medical Services, Inc., which did business as Blue Cross and Blue Shield of the National Capital Area, from September 1993 to January 1998. From 1991 to 1993, he served as President, Chief Operating Officer and Director of First American Bank, N.A. Mr. Glasscock is a director of WellPoint, Inc.
