Larry has a unique background with almost 40 years of cumulative business experience. He has been a CEO of four separate companies -- with line responsibility for more than 20 years. He has worked as an advisor to middle market companies for almost 20 years. He has sold companies. He has turned around losing operations. He has coached other CEOs to major profit improvements and significant changes in corporate direction and strategy. Most of these endeavors were successful; some of them were good learning experiences. Larry has helped owners sell or acquire more than 50 privately held middle-market companies. Today, he focuses on helping middle-market companies partner with Private Equity Groups. Although he is compensated by the Private Equity Groups with whom he works, he always makes sure the objectives and desires of the business owner are met. He has been on the same side of the desk as the entrepreneur and appreciates the emotions and concerns of each owner from firsthand experience. A quick study, he can look at your balance sheet, cash flow statement and income statement to quickly understand how your business works. Although he knows that financials are important, he insists that they are only a reflection of how the business implements its specific strategy. The important parts of any business are the people and the strategy to improve the operation in the future. Although he holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of Illinois, his real education came from the School of Hard Knocks.
