Ian Sandler, Officer and Consultant, is a world renowned expert in the development of the Relational Database Management Systems, Highly available systems and developing high performance systems. Ian started his career over 20 years ago in the United Kingdom working with mainframes and early forms of networking. He was there with one of the pioneers of Virtual Memory Machines sold in the UK under the name of "Atlas." Ian was responsible for installing the first Multivalue based system in the UK while working with Courtaulds. After moving to the United States in 1983, he has continued to hold positions of Director of Software Development for such companies as Bantum/Pertec, CIE, ICON and GA/CIE. The R91 release of the General Automation RDMS/ Operating System encompasses eight years of extreme hard work in developing and enhancing the R83 implementation of this Multivalue product. Power 95 was the UNIX RDMS running under AIX developed by Ian, rivaling other RDMS’s in the Multivalue world. Ian has had extensive literary accomplishments from his 1989 book entitled, The PICK Perspective, a Tab Book Publication, to a continuing series of columns in "PICK News and Review" and "PICK World". Today, Mr. Sandler is considered one of the foremost authorities in the Multivalue community. Ian is acknowledged as having done more in the area of open system integration combining legacy software, NT, UNIX, Microsoft products, Novell and fault tolerant, as well as wide area communication and connectivity than anyone. His strengths also lie in the area of performance improvement for large companies, throughout the post relational database and UNIX-like markets. Ian now travels nationwide troubleshooting, engaging in crisis intervention, and solving those "unsolvable" problems. |
