Biography
Lammert Van Laar III, CPA/ABV, CVA has a wide range of experience in public accounting, which includes taxation of individuals, partnerships, corporations, LLCs and LLPs, estates, trusts, and non-profit organizations. Mr. Van Laar's specialized areas of practice include business valuation services, expert witness and litigation support engagements, estate and gift planning and valuations, marital dissolution accounting, incorporation and dissolution of businesses, and auditing of commercial, non-profit and governmental entities. Lammert's clientele among others includes agricultural producers and processors, manufacturers, medical/dental practices, construction, retail/wholesale businesses, transportation, real estate, personal services and employee benefit plans.
Mr. Van Laar was elected to the Kemper CPA Group LLP Executive Committee on July 1, 1991. His responsibilities within the Committee are to make policy decisions and give direction to the CEO and Administrative staff concerning the operations and affairs of Kemper CPA Group LLP as a whole. Lammert also serves as an in-house consultant for the Firm in the area of Business Valuation/Litigation Support and holds the Certificate of Education Achievement in Business Valuations (CEA-BV) recognized by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Mr. Van Laar has earned the Accredited in Business Valuation (ABV) designation by the AICPA. He also belongs to the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts (NACVA) and is recognized as a Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA) by that organization. Lammert is also a member of the nationally recognized Institute of Business Appraisers (IBA).
From 2000 to 2004, Mr. Van Laar served on the California Society of CPAs (CalCPA) Peer Review Committee, the board responsible for the oversight and approval of quality control reviews of accounting and auditing practices located in California, Arizona and Alaska who belong to the AICPA and CalCPA. He is also serving on the Board of Directors for the San Joaquin Chapter of the CalCPA, of which he was President for 2003-2004. He is also currently serving on CalCPA statewide committees on Financial Literacy and Leadership Development.
