Description of Practice:
Kyle Y. Hoshide is a partner in the firm's Century City real estate group. His primary practice includes the representation of institutional investors, owners and developers (such as Tishman Speyer Properties, Prudential Real Estate Investors and Westfield Corporation) in commercial office, retail and industrial leasing transactions, acquisition, disposition and development transactions and other property ownership/management-related matters. Kyle has also represented Extended Stay America in its land acquisitions for hotel development, as well as numerous other institutional owners (such as Equity Office Properties, Beacon Capital Partners, Teachers Insurance and Annuity Association and Sumitomo Life Realty) in leasing, acquisition and disposition matters. Kyle also has extensive experience representing tenants in commercial leasing transactions, including a start-up high-tech mobile phone and mobile phone service company in its nationwide roll-out of flagship retail store locations.
Kyle's recent transactions include the representation of an institutional owner in the sale of equity interests in its Beverly Hills portfolio (totaling approximately 600,000 square feet), a joint venture of institutional funds in its acquisition of a 64 acre parcel of land in Playa Vista for commercial development, a local developer in the acquisition of a 120,000 square foot office building in Burbank and an institutional owner in its leasing and related property management matters for its southern California office portfolio (totaling over 2 million square feet).
Kyle is a member of the American Bar Association, the California State Bar Association, the Los Angeles County Bar Association and the Japanese American Bar Association. He has been Chair of the Commercial Leasing Subsection (South) of the California State Bar Real Property Section since 2006 and was recently named a "2007 Southern California Rising Star" in a poll conducted by the Law & Politics and Los Angeles magazines.
Educational History:Kyle received his J.D. from Loyola Law School in 1997, where he was an editor of the Loyola of Los Angeles Law Review. During law school, he also served as a judicial extern for the Honorable Alex Kozinski in the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. Kyle received his B.A. in History from Yale University in 1993. |
