Krysten Hicks is a member of the firm's public law group in Sacramento. Prior to joining Meyers Nave, she served as a contract attorney for a sole practitioner where she drafted motions, conducted legal research and prepared pre-trial discovery. She also worked with the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law on the initiative to increase diversity in the legal field and inspire high school students to attend law school. Krysten also worked in the U.S. Attorneys Office, Misdemeanor Unit where she prosecuted misdemeanor cases.Krysten received her J.D. with distinction from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of law in 2005. She also received her L.L.M. in Government and Public Policy from McGeorge in 2006, and was the recipient of the Education Law Fellowship. While in law school, she served as a comment writer and editor of The Transnational Lawyer, an international law journal. She also published her comment, "Thresholds for Confidentiality: The Need for Articulate Guidance in Determining When to Breach Confidentiality to Prevent Third Party Harm," 17 Transnational Law 295 (2004). Krysten also served as secretary to the women's caucus, and was a member of the Government Affairs Student Association. Krysten is a member of the Traynor Honor Society and earned a place on the dean's list from 2002 to 2005. |
