Krista L. Cosner is an associate in Drinker Biddle & Reath's Commercial Litigation Practice Group. Her practice focuses on complex products liability cases primarily involving pharmaceuticals and medical devices. Krista has substantial experience in mass torts, class actions, multidistrict litigation and coordinated proceedings in state courts. Along with other Drinker Biddle attorneys, Krista has served as national coordinating counsel and local counsel in mass tort litigation for large and small pharmaceutical and medical device companies. She has defended manufactures in cases involving over-the-counter medications, prescription drugs and surgical instruments.
Krista has co-chaired one jury trial and second-chaired both jury and bench trials. She has deposed plaintiffs, experts and other key witnesses and has defended the depositions of corporate employees and fact witnesses. As a result of her defense of drug companies in mass tort litigation, Krista has experience in corporate reporting requirements and the management of financial reserves. She has also obtained substantial experience in settling mass tort claims nationwide and has conducted extensive research on overcoming complexities that might impede final resolution of such claims.
Krista is a member of the American Bar Association, the Defense Research Institute and the California Bar Association. She is admitted to practice in both California and Illinois. In 1996, Krista obtained her Juris Doctor from Indiana University Law School. She served as a managing editor of the Indiana Law Journal and as a member of the National Moot Court team. |
