Experience:
Dr. Klaus Müller has a wide-ranging corporate law practice, with a strong emphasis on business combinations and real estate matters. He advises clients regarding mergers and acquisitions and real estate transactions, in particular those that involve cross-border elements. Among his areas of emphasis are acquisitions of real estate holding companies. Klaus also assists clients with corporate transformations and reorganizations, and with the formation of joint ventures. He is a Certified Expert in Corporate and Commercial Law.
Klaus has written dozens of articles, book reviews, and reviews of judgments. He used his proficiency in English as a native German speaker to write a series of columns in FINANCE magazine, in which he commented on various English-language corporate terms and concepts for German readers. Klaus has also written three books on subjects relating to corporate structure and organization.
Klaus has been a partner in Mayer Brown's Frankfurt office since 2001. He was a member of and partner in predecessor firms GAEDERTZ Rechtsanwälte, Frankfurt am Main (1997-2001), and Albert, Flad & Schlosshan, Frankfurt am Main, 1996-1997 (merged to form GAEDERTZ Rechtsanwälte in 1997). Before entering private practice he was academic assistant to Professor Volker Beuthien, University of Marburg/Lahn, Institute for Commercial and Business Law (1993-1995).
