Ms. Satterwhite is a shareholder in the Firm's Medical Malpractice trial team. She focuses her practice on the defense of physicians, hospitals, nursing homes and other health care providers in medical malpractice actions, as well as the defense of manufacturers in products liability cases. Her litigation experience includes first chair jury trials in state court, second chair jury trials in state and federal court and dispositive motion argument in state and federal court. Ms. Satterwhite has also successfully argued before the Virginia Supreme Court. Ms. Satterwhite has obtained defense verdicts in jurisdictions throughout the state of Virginia, including the City of Richmond and Portsmouth, two venues considered particularly risky for defendants. Ms. Satterwhite's cases have been included in the "Largest Defense Verdicts" for 2003 and 2006 as listed by Virginia Lawyers Weekly and the Virginia Medical Law Report. Before joining LeClair Ryan, Ms. Satterwhite was a member of the litigation group at Williams Mullen Clark & Dobbins, where her practice emphasized commercial litigation, professional malpractice defense, products liability, premises liability, personal injury, insurance coverage, defamation and workers' compensation.
